TIL that a hit song from 1997 with the lyric “I could never be a woman” (and a trumpet line that was subsequently sampled by Dua Lipa in her more recent song “Love Again”) … in fact did not have that lyric at all. It wasn’t “I could never be a woman”; it was “I could never be YOUR woman” (presumably because in part the singer cannot be a woman)

I also learned today that that same 1997 song, titled “Your Woman”, was in fact *not* by the UK band Space (known for such hits at “The Female of the Species).

@lindsey sorry to barge in here but i read that faq like a decade ago and the last question about being a one hit wonder has stuck with me ever since, what an absolute legend. he also streamed a bunch during the early pandemic on youtube, real cool guy.
