Pipes burst in the MIT student center with the recent freeze and this Mastodon instance (housed there) went down for a few days—a nice break, really, but more than that feels right for social media to have some connection to the local atmosphere

@nsfmc not sure where exactly but sounds like there was extensive damage to the building, which led to no power for several days
