Imo, the Polaroid Now+ (Gen 2) is definitely a shitty camera in the sense that it always seems to be over or under, but never actually *properly* exposed.
For the price of each print, I think it's best to just run with the results and think of it as a random picture generator.
@jeremyosborn The biggest problem I have with the Now+ is the unreliable app. The best results I've achieved are using the flash at a reasonably close distance, triggered by hand. Their b&w film can look really nice.
@analogfusion Yes, the app is wonky, and the B&W is more predictable than the color I think.
I discovered the in-camera exposure compensation recently (press and hold the flash button for 2 secs and then choose from 3 exposure options) and had high hopes, but even the "normal" setting was not great.
@jeremyosborn That's one setting I haven't looked at. I may have to give that a try. I agree that the b&w film seems to produce more predictable results.
@nsfmc interesting idea!
What I probably need to do first is a rigorous test roll of different exposures, complete with notes and controlled lighting.
I haven’t really done that yet as it seems antithetical to the whole Polaroid ethos, but it will probably be worth it over the long haul (both in ⏰and💰)
