a while back i played with midjourney and found it largely unsatisfying, but this ended up being a highlight "a view of the golden gate bridge as painted by chuck close." i think my favorite of these, which i am having trouble finding, were painted as j.m.w. turner

Truth is stranger than fiction. This is my sketch from 5 years ago, of Paul Williams, who you might not know, singing "Here's That Rainy Day", in costume from Panet of the Apes, on Johnny Carson in 1973.

In even just the first two days of Advent of Code, I can tell people's ages by what they optimize for. Cache? CPU cycles? Memory? Readability? These are four distinct epochs of programming, and they're incredibly visible in AoC.

cassius: Tell me, good Brutus, can you see my spotify wrapped playlist?

brutus: No, cassius, for the eye sees not itself,
But by reflection, by some other things.

Cassius pastes the link into slack, gasping in bewilderment at the preview, and pauses

cassius: And since you know, you cannot see yourself
So well as by reflection, I your glass,
Will modestly discover to yourself
That of yourself which you yet know not of.

Flourish, and shout

Ever have a shitpost come to you so powerfully you partially make it, forget about it for months, then find it in your pictures folder begging for completion?

@paul i am certain this is like the bottom of most bottom priority, but ivory seems to not be able to talk to a pleroma server beyond fetching very basic user info (display name/profile photo), i haven't checked how much its api deviates from mainline mastodon's, but i was under the impression that it wasn't a ton, lmk if i can send anything for a bug report via email
