@ieure did you ever play around with the sony rx100s? before i got a mirrorless i rented one a few times to take on a trip and really loved the experience, sort of reminded me of the take and go vibe of the powershots (although a hair more finicky)

@willman feel like the argument against js was more clear cut in 2004 or whenever noscript was ascendant before gmaps but when you could believably find on a daily basis a site that would add forty stars trailing your cursor absolutely crushing firefox’s main thread

whenever i'm suspicious about someone, i go to the local library and scroll through microfiche to determine that they have a dark past

@kavehv yeah, i think also like ten years of marginal improvements to vacuum tech really go a long way.

deeply annoyed that the new vacuum is indescribably better despite having a laughable canister capacity

it's not the arrow in the fedex logo, but ever since i learned about timing codes and alignment patterns (the 4th square) in qr codes i haven't been able to unsee them in every qr code i see in the wild

@jonfroehlich @eglassman not to dismiss your question, but beyond giving good, earnest crit, interpreting and acting on feedback within the constraints of a project is a Large part of the capital-p Process. like there’s always going to be somebody whose crit is “i would have done it this way” somebody who picks out visual nits, somebody who uses the work as a springboard to discuss things they wish they had done, etc. maybe they’re all valid depending on what you want or need to do with the work/design/task. learning to interpret, filter, and make use of that feedback is largely the point of art/design school (imo) at least if you’re at a Process driven program and not a portfolio-focused one (as Bierut might call them). harder yet is knowing (and asking for) the kind of crit that would help you make immediate vs long term progress.
